We are hoping to make a few announcements this week during the NRA Show. In the meantime please take a look at one of our favorite optics mounts from Bobro Engineering, the Dual lever Precision Optic Mount 30mm Rings.

Description

The Dual Lever series of precision optics mounts features the Patented [US Patent 8,567,105] BLAC™ lever system and are engineered for larger diameter scopes. The base has an extension that allows proper eye relief, even when using a non-monolithic rail. It is designed so that the base allows the use of a folding back up iron sight (BUIS). The structure is designed for maximum strength, and utilizes larger fasteners than our standard lineup. This mount is engineered to handle heavy optics and high recoil forces. Introducing the 1-8x24 PM ShortDot by Schmidt and Binder.

The 1-8x24 PM ShortDot is a consequent continuation in the development of the tried and true 1,1-4x20 PM ShortDot. The extreme magnification range has considerably expanded the scope's range of applications. The fine reticle in the first focal plane permits precise firing up to a distance of 800 m. Due to the ShortDot in the second focal plane the model may be used like a red dot sight at short distances – the red dot will not follow the magnification.

FN USA has now added a 5.56mm DMR type rifle to their FN15 line:

The FN 15™ DMR includes many of the same features as the FN 15™ Sporting but was designed for more tactical applications.  The FN 15™ DMR features an 18” match-grade, cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1:7 twist to enhance stability and accuracy for heavier grain precision shooting ammunition.  Ialso comes with pre-installed Magpul MBUS® Pro backup iron sights, Midwest Industries SSM M-LOK™ 15" hand guard with a 1913 rail for mounting optics, night vision or thermal devices.

Daniel Defense introduces their interpretation of the MK-12 SPR. The heart of this rifle is an all new barrel with a Proprietary Blend of Stainless Steel, Cold Hammer Forged, 1:7” twist, 18″ MK12 Profile, Salt Bath Nitride Finished, and HP/MPI tested. This is the first stainless steel hammer forged barrel I’m aware of. It also includes their new stock and pistol grip designs.

New version of the M-110 for MARSOC!

MARSOC adopts the M110 Carbine Conversion Kit. Does this open the door for a M-14 EBR/ M-39 EMR replacement for US Forces?  Something like this?

Here at Pro Patria we are not certain that 7.62mm Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) are the right choice, but enough nations are using them that we will have to re-look our focus for DMR type rifles and training.

Lewis Machine and Tool secures second Designated Marksman contract with the New Zealand Defense Force. Following England, New Zealand is the second country using bullpup rifles and the third country using other than AR based designs to equip their DM's with a AR type rifle.

The Bundeswehr adopts a version of the HK 417 as the G28 for thier Designated Marksman Rifle, Zielfernrohrsch Ãtzengewehr.
